True Bonus Cost
This bonus costs you approximately £180.00 in expected losses to clear. The bonus is worth less than the cost of wagering through it.
How the Wagering Calculator Works
Casino bonuses look generous on the surface, but wagering requirements mean you have to bet the bonus amount many times over before you can withdraw. Every time you wager, the house edge chips away at your balance. This calculator shows you the real expected cost.
The Math Behind It
Total wagering= (Deposit + Bonus) × Wagering requirement. For a £100 deposit with 100% bonus at 35× wagering, that's (£100 + £100) × 35 = £7,000 in total bets.
Expected loss = Total wagering × House edge. If you play slots at 96% RTP (4% house edge), your expected loss is £7,000 × 0.04 = £280.
Effective bonus value = Bonus amount - Expected loss. In this example: £100 - £280 = -£180. The bonus actually costs you £180 on average.
Choosing the Right Game RTP
The game you play makes a massive difference. Slots typically have 96% RTP, meaning a 4% house edge. Blackjack (with optimal strategy) can reach 99% RTP, reducing the house edge to just 1% — but many bonuses restrict table game contributions to wagering requirements.
